Passengers who are leaving their car at home can take a coach service from Ayr, Dumfries, Stranraer, Carlisle, Preston and Birmingham.

The port is also near Stranraer station, which offers services going to and from Glasgow Central.
Passengers can find convenient access using the 350 bus service, which runs from the centre of Stranraer, the train station and the port Monday to Friday.
If you’re taking your car with you, Cairnryan Port is accessible from the north via the A77 heading south from Glasgow/Ayr. If you’re heading up from the south, follow the M6/A74 to Carlisle, then onto the A75 via Dumfries, going towards Stranraer. After two miles south of Stranraer, turn right onto the A751/A77. Passengers who are due to travel with their vehicle on P&O Ferries are required to check-in 30 minutes before departure. Foot passengers are requested to check-in 45 minutes before their journey.
